I bought mine in Leominster, too (at Market Basket). I didn't think it was much different from what I'm used to. Although I sometimes notice slight differences from batch to batch -- usually changes in fizziness. I do think it's not quite as strong as the Moxie I first had in the early '90s.

I'll have to order some from the West Coast soon to see how the bottler out there compares these days.

Noah R. With my first sip, the first thought I had was that it has been watered down. I went on the Internet to check it out and found this article.
This new Moxie is Distinctively Different.
It will probably fair better against Coke and Pepsi in Justin's taste tests, but I was not looking for a Dr. Pepper. I wanted a MOXIE!

Re: Details in tragic deaths have yet to be revealed

I am really excited to know about the details regarding about the tragic deaths to be revealed.
I encountered the "new" Moxie-man labelling in October in Manchester, NH, and at that time it was only on the 2-litre bottles of regular Moxie. I bought it & tried it -- but like Frank Anicetti, I find the "regular" Moxie doesn't have the same bite at the diet variety. I haven't tried the "new" diet yet, but when I get some, I still have some older bottles with which I can compare.

Re: Is this the end for Friendly’s or a fresh start?

I'm not sure about closing stores in the '70s. They seemed to be doing pretty well right up until they took the company public in the early 2000s.

You're right, though. Friendly's is one of those "in between" places that isn't quite a diner and isn't quite a nice quiet meal with family and friends. That's a tough place to try to carve out a niche.

Noah R.
They should have expanded or closed most of those stores back in the 1970s.

It is not the kind of place for an intimate, high quality dinner, yet it is too fancy or too slow for a bunch of construction workers to come in at lunch or the end of the day

Re: GoLocal is new media player in Worcester

They're starting to recruit reporters in Craigslist: Reporter - http://worcester.craigslist.or...

Re: Who needs community news?

I agree. And I'm probably hitting this point a little harder than needed. But I do believe that when looking to the now and the future, you've got to have something more than just a central place for information culled from other sites. West Seattle Blog has more than that. And you also have to look at what a specific community has for online resources and how web and mobile savvy the residents in that area tend to be. Not every place is the same.

Noah R. We mix "stories you can't find anywhere else" with some of the stuff you mention. But you are too quick to dismiss the latter as information that's "readily available." For a still-startling amount of people, no, it's not. It's buried in a million different places. Bringing it together - I look at about 15 different sites and Facebook pages to pull together a simple "transportation changes etc. for the holiday" type of roundup. My reader has better things to do. Same thing with "who's open on Christmas Eve for dinner." It's worse than ever right now because a lot of businesses aren't even using their websites - they're slapping this information up as Facebook statuses, maybe three days before the event, maybe a day before, maybe the day of, but NO rhyme or reason or predictability. Eventually, I'm sure, somebody technically smarter than me will come up with a coherent system that will make all this information easy to find, logically catalogued, etc. Right now, the system is me and the people who work for me. Inbetween some semi-investigative journalism, like two days ago when I had to go downtown to dig through an analog file of documents to confirm a semi-bombshell about a much-watched local project. Funny thing is, the nearest newspaper is getting fluffier, even as we get more serious ...

Re: New photo works exhibit in Lawrence

Really interesting video and i enjoyed this post here, Looking for post and articles here.
